About
Liget Táncakadémia is a folk dance education institution founded in September 2010 at the Erzsébetligeti Színház in Budapest XVI. district. It operates under the leadership of Éva Karácsonyi, a dance artist and dance pedagogue, with more than 200 students across seven grade levels. The teaching staff includes numerous award-winning dance artist-pedagogues, including recipients of the National Solo Dance Festival award and former and current professional diploma-holding dance artists from the Duna Művészegyüttes and the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble. The training follows a progressive system, supplemented with theoretical education (dance theory, dance history, ethnographic knowledge). End-of-year final examination performances are held.
