About
Afro Ritmo is a Hungarian capoeira community founded in 2009, operating under the leadership of Mestre Gil. Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art game that combines kicks, defensive techniques, and acrobatic elements (e.g., cartwheels) performed to music. In addition to capoeira, classes teach Brazilian dance forms (samba, afro, maculelê), capoeira instruments, singing, and Portuguese basics. New members can join at any time, with beginners receiving separate instruction until they master the fundamentals. The first class is free. Locations: Budapest XIII. district (Vág utca 19, Jiaido Dojo) and Zalaegerszeg (Apáczai tér 5).
