Bouldering or ropes
Bouldering happens on a low wall over a thick crash pad, with no gear: quick to start, social, a great strength builder. Roped climbing needs a harness, belay device and a belay partner (or an auto-belay system), and most gyms require a belay test first.
First visit
As a beginner, ask for an introduction: they'll show you how to fall safely, the hold colour system, and the grading scale. Climbing shoes, and a harness for ropes, can be rented. You just need comfortable, flexible clothing, nothing else.
Prices
A day pass typically costs 2,500-4,000 Ft, plus a small surcharge for the gear package. A monthly pass pays off for regular climbers (roughly 15,000-22,000 Ft), and many gyms accept the AYCM or MultiSport pass.
