What a good strength gym needs
The basics: several power racks, a stable squat stand, a purpose-built bar and plate set, and enough room to clean the bar. Weightlifting also needs a lifting platform and bumper plates so the bar can be dropped safely.
Many classic gyms have one or two racks, which isn't enough at peak hours. Dedicated strength gyms have more racks and a more supportive atmosphere if you're training for competition.
Clubs and sections
Several weightlifting sections and powerlifting clubs in Budapest welcome hobbyists, with a coach. If your goal is competing in the Hungarian federation system, joining a club rather than just a membership is worth it.
Prices
Gym access is typically priced at the standard gym level (9,000-18,000 Ft/month); club membership with a coach can be higher but gives you a structured program.
